Cotton Pile Blanket

コットンパイル・ブランケット

For summer, we've created

a comfortable pile blanket.

It can be used to ward off the air conditioning on the living room sofa,

to casually cover yourself during a nap,

or taken to the beach as a large beach towel.

You can also keep it in your car for outdoor use.

We wanted something that could be used freely not just indoors, but in various scenarios like these,

so instead of being "fluffy,"

we opted for a firm yet light touch on the skin.

Made of 100% cotton, it has a classic, old-fashioned pile texture.

The more you wash it, the more you use it,

the better its absorbency becomes, reaching a level that's even visually noticeable.

It's that nostalgic kind of item.

And, of course, it's made in Japan.

World-class Japanese quality

They enthusiastically met our detailed requests,

and the quality was, as expected, outstanding.

Responding with pride and enthusiasm—

it's something that should be standard, but it's not always the case.

Truly.

The pattern is not "printed,"

but rather a jacquard design created by "weaving,"

after all the threads have been dyed beforehand.

This method is significantly more labor-intensive and costly

than printing, but

because the threads themselves are dyed,

it creates a three-dimensional pattern with depth,

and most importantly, it doesn't compromise the feel of the pile.

It's slightly larger than a bath towel, making it

great for summer bedding too.

For each pattern, the colors

use different shades of navy.

We often get asked, "Is it indigo?"

However, no indigo dye is used at all,

so you can wash it normally without worry.

(It's even better if you put it in a laundry net due to the fringes.)

Speaking of which,

here's a surprisingly little-known trick

for enjoying pile towels to the fullest.

Before hanging it to dry, at least 5 times!

Give it a good shake, like "whoosh, whoosh!"

*Refer to the photo:

This means shaking it out, not slapping it with both hands.

Doing this makes the loops stand up,

allowing you to truly experience the inherent quality of the pile.

It makes an incredible difference, so

please give it a try.

It's quite popular as a gift on our online store, and

it reminded me that it used to be a classic gift item.

See ya!
