We use "washi yarn," which is made by cutting washi into thin strips and twisting it into yarn.
A material that has been used in Japanese life for centuries
has become a new product that blends into modern living.

Washi yarn is a traditional plant-derived material that has been used for clothing and daily necessities for centuries.
It is created by slitting washi into extremely fine strips and twisting them into yarn,
a uniquely Japanese material.
It uses manila hemp as its raw material.
Manila hemp is a perennial plant in the banana family that grows quickly and can be harvested repeatedly.
Therefore, it has a low environmental impact and has recently attracted attention as a sustainable material.
The appeal of washi yarn is its lightness, breathability, and durability.
It absorbs moisture, dries quickly, and is not sticky.
This time, to further enhance the refreshing sensation,
we used a crisp, wall-yarn-like thread.
Its smooth feel and light texture
comfortably refreshes your feet after a bath.
Its excellent moisture absorption and quick-drying properties
also make it appealing for always staying clean and comfortable.
Because it is light, durable, and highly breathable,

The texture of washi and the handcrafted pattern harmonize,

To achieve this intricate pattern,
we went through numerous prototypes and repeated fine adjustments with the factory staff.
This is BasShu's first product using "washi yarn."
As a new proposal connecting traditional local materials with modern living,
this WASHI BATH MAT was born.
It's a new standard item from BasShu, combining functionality, design, and the appeal of Japanese materials.
