The reason we choose Banshu-ori, a textile with a 200-year history in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, is none other than its texture.

Banshu-ori is a "yarn-dyed" fabric, meaning the threads are dyed first before being woven to create patterns. As a result, it possesses a beautiful appearance from any angle and a profound coloration that cannot be achieved with prints.

Traditional power looms

BasShu is particular not only about the production area but also about the weaving machines. The operation of traditional power looms is made possible by the skills of artisans. The fabric is woven slowly, with tension adjusted to avoid stressing the threads.

The 100% cotton chambray fabric, woven slowly with no expense of effort and time, combines a natural and warm texture. While not suitable for mass production, we choose this Banshu-ori.

About the label

The brand tag, secured with red stitching, is designed to naturally unravel with use, rather than being firmly sewn in. You can remove it or leave it as you prefer.
