Regarding this series, I have a lot to say about both the background and the products, so I'll write about it in detail on the blog.
Now, about the apron.
Four check patterns made from Banshu-ori fabric. I thought the light and comfortable material would be perfect for everyday aprons, so I made a super standard "the apron" that directly utilizes its good qualities.
My main focus was on "being able to put it on quickly and have it look good."
It may seem trivial, but I think it's very important.
If it's too loose, it can be unexpectedly troublesome to adjust the shape, so I designed it to be simply slipped over the neck, tied snugly, and voilà!
With that in mind, the neck strap is a fixed loop that goes over the head, rather than a criss-cross design at the back. (If your neck is slender, you can pinch and fasten it at the back.) The silhouette is designed to be neat and tidy, with enough room but without being bulky.
The waist tie is a length that won't get in the way.
In short, it just looks good no matter how casually you put it on. That's the kind of apron I (being lazy) want to use every day.
The length is a little longer. (By the way, I'm 160cm tall, and it comes to about the middle of my knees.)
I even thought about getting rid of the pockets, but then I thought, "No, there are times when I want to put my phone in," so I added just one on the right side.
Above the pocket, there's a small embroidered initial. It's quite discreet. This time, the label is also placed on the unseen back side.
That's because rather than it being a "BasShu" apron, I wanted it to be something you use in your daily life and make your own.

This is what it looks like on a man.
All products are washed and finished at the end, so you can start using them comfortably from the day they arrive.
You can wash them as you like, but since indigo thread is used, if you're concerned about color transfer at first, please wash them separately from white items.
After that, you can sun-dry them, and there's no need to iron them.
Even if you have several aprons, I'm sure this one will naturally become the one you reach for in your daily life.
