BasShu's patchwork quilt

is based on Amish quilts from the early 1900s.

 

Among American quilts,

Amish quilts vary depending on the era and community background,

but a major feature of Amish quilts

is that they are made from solid colors.

 

And the patterns have few curves,

making them simple and powerful.

 

Quilts usually have a strong feminine image,

but I thought this unique atmosphere of Amish quilts

would also suit BasShu's interior style.

 

Now available in 4 patterns.

 

Since it's a padded quilt, it can be used as a multi-cover:

draped over a sofa,

draped over a bed,

used like a blanket,

or laid on the floor.

The distressed texture is a key feature.

 

This is achieved by cutting all the fabric, patchworking it together,
then quilting it,
and finally, post-dyeing (overdying) and washing it.

 

Not only the texture,
but the post-dyeing also mellows the tone
and matures the expression of the quilt.

 

For example,

even this checker pattern,
since the whole thing is overdyed in beige,
the red color isn't as vivid as in the photo, creating an exquisite tone.

In the coming cold season,

just draping it over your usual sofa

will make your entire interior feel warm.

 

 

If you have a large wall space,

it's also great to hang it on the wall like a tapestry, as shown in this image.
