When I go to NY, I always stop by "SHARK TOOTH."
It's not a place that would appeal to everyone.
They proudly display tattered antique rugs,
They casually place unusually attractive fabrics whose genre and era are unknown,
And hand-dye old quilts one by one.
It's a space that clearly conveys, "Ah, this person really loves textiles." As someone who works with textiles, it makes me happy, and it's always a place that stimulates my senses.
It's hard to explain, but
there's no condescending implication often found in stores dealing with unique items, like "These are valuable,"
And the fact that it's entirely based on the owner's interpretation
is so pure and comforting.
Beyond just liking it,
I might even admire it myself.

The owner of that store is Kellen Tucker.
I'd read an interview with her before, and I always imagined her home and lifestyle must be wonderful, and then,
It turns out I was right!

My liking turned into complete admiration.
Thanks to this article, I'm suddenly motivated to tackle my home's interior, which I'd neglected for a while.
